La Salle-URL Campus Barcelona students win five awards at the National Model United Nations 2025 in New York
National Model United Nations (NMUN) recognizes campus representatives in the Distinguished Delegation, Outstanding Position Paper and Outstanding Delegates categories
Thursday, May 9, 2025. has attended the National Model United Nations (NMUN) in New York, an annual conference in which university students are divided into real United Nations committees to analyze and debate real problems and challenges in the world. In this edition, in which La Salle-URL has been the only university in Catalonia and one of two in Spain to have participated, the students of the campus have represented the Republic of Korea and have worked successfully in different committees in order to solve real problems. As a result of their involvement and good results, the students of La Salle-URL have obtained five awards in the categories Distinguished Delegation (1), Outstanding Position Paper (3) and Outstanding Delegates (1).
The Distinguished Delegation award is a group award and recognizes the work of the entire campus delegation, made up of 24 students from the knowledge areas of Business & Management, Philosophy, Architecture and Engineering, highlighting the transdisciplinary work that is promoted in the La Salle-URL ecosystem. As for individual awards, the NMUN has awarded:
- Raluca Anamaria Untaru and Sofia Iakhontova, from the Peacebuilding Commission, with the Outstanding Delegates award
- Marta Capel and Maria Andreeva, from the United Nations Development Programme, with the Outstanding Position Paper award
- Pau Bellar and Ainhoa ​​Rosell, from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees; with the Outstanding Position Paper award
- Amira Jaddi and Victoria Pont, from General Assembly 2, with the Outstanding Position Paper award

The National Model United Nations is the largest, most prestigious, most diverse and oldest university-level model of the United Nations in the world. Associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications since 1982, it annually brings together participants from over 100 UN member states to address global issues and is an organization recognized for its excellent volunteer staff and academic rigor. Experiential learning programs offer students a forum to hone skills in diplomacy, negotiation, critical thinking, engagement, public speaking, writing, and research. Looking ahead to next year, , a prestigious international event that will bring together students from around the world to analyze and debate global challenges.
