Wednesday, June 4, 2025. With the desire to be a multiplier agent and a firm commitment to the development of the environment, La Salle-URL, constitutes the Social Board Council (SBC), the Social Council of Entities of the campus. The SBC was born with the purpose of establishing a space for dialogue and collaboration between the university and social entities to jointly address social problems and promote sustainable development, a purpose closely linked to the Lasallian educational model of service, equity and inclusion.

The Social Board Council becomes a bridge of understanding between the campus and the social ecosystem to generate real impact and transform society, and has the mission of connecting the academic resources, university talent and social commitment of the university community itself with the needs and challenges of social entities, promoting community development, inclusion, equity, social justice and the common good.

In the words of the General Director of La Salle-URL, ​​Josep M. Santos: “The Social Board Council was born naturally, as a sign and example of La Salle’s commitment to social action. We want to create a space for meeting, dialogue and real collaboration between the campus and the entities that work, every day, to make the world a better place”. With this initiative, La Salle-URL consolidates itself as an epicenter of activity and works to perpetuate the Lasallian tradition of committing to the territorial, economic and social development of the environment.

With the participation of fourteen founding entities, the council will promote the training of students, alumni, faculty, researchers and administrative and service staff with solid values ​​and commitment to social justice and responsibility towards their community, preparing them to face social challenges with a critical and transformative perspective. The Secretary of the SBC and Head of Social Action at La Salle-URL, ​​Jordi Jover, states: “The Social Council of Entities becomes a key space to connect and understand the reality of our environment, providing solutions, support and innovation to those initiatives that seek to solve social problems, promote equity and guarantee a more just and sustainable development”.

The involvement of all social entities and La Salle-URL will contribute both to the comprehensive training of students and to the strengthening of the social fabric of the community.
