The URL participates in Milan in an international scientific colloquium on Artifical Inteligence

Friday, July 21, 2023. Last week, on July 13-14, the SACRU Scientific Colloquium 鈥淭he Future of Catholic Universities in the Artifical Inteligence (AI) Age鈥 and the Governing Board meeting were held in Milan at Universit脿 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
The rector of the URL, Josep Antoni Rom, intervened in the meeting, accompanied by the secretary general of the URL, Anna Berga, the Vice Rector for International Relations, Carlo Gallucci, and the professor of La Salle-URL, Xavier Vilas铆s, who made a presentation in which he emphasized that the key to AI in education "is not what the machine contributes but what people accept as good or not".
The meeting brought together more than 80 professors and researchers from the eight SACRU universities in Milan to discuss AI from a multidisciplinary point of view and how universities will react to a context change characterizing the educational globally. SACRU Catholic Universities look with confidence at the role of AI after the conference and are committed to using this technology to improve the quality of their activity ().
The Colloquium was opened by the keynote lecture of Cardinal Jos茅 Tolentino de Mendon莽a, Prefect of the Dicastery for Culture and Education. The outcome of these two days of discussion will be a position paper to be published by the end of the year, which will formalize the Universities鈥 positions and proposals ().
Taking advantage of the meeting, July 14, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at the Universit脿 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, under the chairmanship of SACRU President and Australian Catholic University Vice-Chancellor and President Prof. Zlatko Skrbis.
In addition, Prof. Pier Sandro Cocconcelli, Vice Rector of Universit脿 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, was confirmed as the Secretary-General of SACRU for the term 2023-2026.
