ESADE-URL ranked among top 10 European business schools by Financial Times

ESADE-URL has been ranked #8 in the European Business Schools Ranking, which is based on the results of the programme-specific rankings published by the Financial Times throughout the year. Spain is the only European country with three business schools in the top 10 of the Financial Times 鈥渞anking of rankings鈥
Monday, 4th December 2017. ESADE-URL has once again been named one of the 10 best European business schools in the Financial Times European Business School Ranking, securing slot #8 and making Spain the only European country to have three institutions in the top 10. Better known as the 鈥渞anking of rankings鈥, the list is based on the results of the programme-specific rankings published by the Financial Times throughout the year and offers an overview of the continent鈥檚 business schools.
鈥淲e are very proud to once again be named among the top 10 business schools in Europe,鈥 commented Josep Franch, Dean of ESADE Business School. 鈥淔or ESADE-URL, this is an important recognition of our learning experience, which is centred on the Student First project, and our clear strategy, which places particular focus on innovation and entrepreneurship.鈥 According to Dr. Franch, making the top 10 in the European Business School Ranking as a great honour, given that this list 鈥渋ntegrates the Financial Times鈥檚 four most important educational rankings, which this year gave very high marks to ESADE-URL鈥檚 Full-Time MBA and Master in International Management鈥.

ESADE-URL鈥檚 Full-Time MBA ranked #6 in Europe
ESADE-URL鈥檚 8th-place showing in this year鈥檚 鈥渞anking of rankings鈥 is due in part to the high score obtained last January by its Full-Time MBA programme, which the Financial Times ranked #17 worldwide and #6 in Europe. The newspaper highlighted the professional development and salary increase obtained by graduates, ranking the ESADE-URL Full-Time MBA #2 in Europe and #3 worldwide in those two categories, respectively.
Although ESADE-URL鈥檚 Full-Time MBA is taught entirely in English, participants also have the opportunity to learn French, German and Spanish. In addition, students may complete the course in 12, 15 or 18 months, and last year 90% of participants secured employment within three months of graduating. The current Full-Time MBA class 鈥 which is set to graduate in 2019 鈥 has 187 students from more than 50 countries in every corner of the world: Asia (32%), Latin America (30%), Europe (24%), North America (10%), the Middle East (3%) and Africa (1%). The educational background of the participants also varies widely 鈥 economics and management (47%), engineering (31%), humanities and social sciences (6%), law (3%) and science (2%) 鈥 as does their experience in specific functional areas: marketing and sales (32%), auditing (17%), general management (15%), operations and logistics (15%), and consulting (14%).

Master in International Management ranked #8 in the world
Another factor that helped push ESADE-URL into the top 10 of the European Business School Ranking was the performance of the school鈥檚 Master in International Management, which this year was ranked #8 worldwide in its category. The Financial Times gave high marks to the Master in International Management in the categories of career advancement after graduation (#9 worldwide) and salary increase (#10 worldwide).
ESADE-URL鈥檚 10-month Master in International Management is taught in English but offers the possibility of taking some subjects in Spanish. Ninety-two percent of the ESADE-URL students who earn the degree conferred in this programme 鈥 the Master of Science in Management (MSc) 鈥 secure employment within three months of graduating. This high level of employability is due, among other factors, to the internationalisation of ESADE-URL鈥檚 classrooms. This year鈥檚 Master in International Management students hail from Europe (79%), Asia (9%), Latin America (5%), North America (4%), the Middle East (2%) and Africa (1%). This cultural diversity is combined with a broad range of experience and knowledge, as 64% of students have a background in management, 15% in engineering, 10% in economics, 7% in the humanities and 2% in science.
In addition to those mentioned above, the European Business School Ranking also takes into account the Financial Times rankings of Executive Education and Executive MBA programmes. The Executive Education rankings evaluate programmes that are open to the general public as well as custom programmes designed specifically for companies, with ESADE-URL taking 7th and 15th place worldwide, respectively. In this year鈥檚 Executive MBA ranking, ESADE-URL once again appeared in the global top 20.
